This event used to be called ‘The Ferndown Classic Car Show’ but it has morphed into to so much more, with many more activities and attractions. The organisers are more than happy to accommodate club stands and it is always held on a Saturday, so doesn’t intersphere with other events traditionally held on Sundays. We hope you have come through the Covid pandemic relatively unscathed and that you have been able to give your classic or custom vehicle some extra sparkle during your involuntary confinement!
It seems likely that lockdown is going to be loosened in stages in March and April and also with reference to the Fete on 17th May. We are therefore hopeful that the Ferndown Fete on the Field and its car show will be able to operate in June although in a more restricted, scaled down and Covid conscious manner.
On that basis we are proceeding with our preparations to hold our car show as normal but there will have to be some variations to previous years.
These include but may not be inclusive:
Numbers are going to be limited to 100 vehicles due to extra spacing requirements.
Car clubs will be required to give exact numbers for their stands to avoid wasted spaces.
We will be unlikely to accept vehicles on the day who have not been prebooked.
Prepayment for commemorative plaques is not required in advance.
Elsewhere on the field many attractions will still be available although some less suited to Covid restriction will not be able to. The Car Show will take place on the Saturday only.
Covid measures will be adhered to strictly on the day and have not yet been finalised. It is thought there will be a security fence around the entire show and all persons entering would be temperature tested. Other measures will be implemented if considered necessary or a requirement. Your safety will be key and more important than anything else to us. Should the government declare events like the Fete to be unsafe then it will not happen, but we hope this will not be the case. We all need relief from over 12 months of various degrees of lockdown!
On that basis we are now happy to report we are taking bookings for the Car Show and hope you would like to attend. Please note that the Car Show will be on Saturday 19th June 2021 and not on Sunday.
