Classic around Dorset is a well established event, which unfortunately sometimes clashes with other events, but not this year. It starts at Alex Field, Hazelbury Bryan and you have a choice of taking part in the Rally which includes a treasure hunt or you can just turn up and exhibit your car.

Our 2018 event is well into the planning stages and this year we are supporting, as always, the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and, as our second charity, the Dorset County Hospital Cancer Appeal. The DCH appeal is raising funds towards a target of £1.75 million pounds to be used to provide radiotherapy services at Dorchester. The new Radiotherapy unit and Cancer Outpatients department will serve people across the North, South and Western parts of the county and will save them having to travel to Poole for treatment.

We’re pleased to say that Chris Lawson and Laura have very kindly agreed to bring their Marshall steam engine and ‘living van’ along for the day again and they will hopefully be bringing a couple of vintage tractors as well!

We’ve also had confirmation from Allan Gates at Mere Down Falconry that he will there again this year with his Birds of Prey and we are hoping that the Dorset branch of the Vintage Motorcycle Club will be dropping in for a few hours during the day as well. This year the music will be provided by the ‘Tamar Band’ a multi-instrumental duo from Devon playing folk and roots music.
